Its been a while since I've seen a single rear wheel ambulance. I've always liked ambulances for some reason.I've considered more than once to get a decommissioned ambulance even if I have absolutely no need for one. Are you a paramedic?

Why emergency service companies do not install snow tires for their vehicles I'll never understand. I get it, save pennies all over the place and cutthroat competition, but why not just do it right? It should be like regular maintenance...

Oh I did not know there was a difference between a paramedic and a EMT but google proved me wrong once again.

In Canada(where I am) anybody in an ambulance is called a paramedic but like you there is still 2 different levels of training you can acquire. Like your EMT-basic and EMT-Paramedic.

Too expensive. As it is medicare always trys go screw the private companies on payment so at 400 dollars an ambulance times 50 ambulances it's not worth it for them to use winters over all seasons. Not to mention it also takes time to do the switch over for all the ambulances and they'd need space to store the un used tires during the off season.

Yupp here in illinois and other parts of the United states there is the emt-b, emt-i and emt-p. The biggest difference is what drugs we can use.

Any time I see an ambulance responding in the snow, they usually end up drifting. I know that's a bad thing, but it seems odd given how much weight is over the back wheels, and how they are usually fitted with snow tires, unless I'm mistaken?

I understand all that... and it's no more expensive than buying regular tires. When winter tires are in use, regular tires are not so they will last longer. Plus safety... ambulances are one of the vehicles that might be out in the snow no matter what the roads are like!

To the companies it's just not worth it. That said the all seasons we have on do a pretty good job as is. I personally feel like all terrains would be a better fit for the job but that's just me

NY is ridiculous:

CFR: certified first responder

EMT-B: emergency medical tech-basic

AEMT-I: advanced emt-intermediate

AEMT-CC: advanced emt-critical care

AEMT-P: advanced emt:paramedic

My advice is to NEVER buy a used Ambulance under any circumstance.

Why not? can't be worst than a used cop car.

From my experience, police cars get blood, vomit, urine and feces. No gaping open wounds, and usually no extremely ill people are in the back of them. An ambulance would be exposed to all of that and more.
